About Dr. Hacker
Dr. Hacker is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience providing therapy and consultation to adults and adolescents to address a wide range of concerns impacting their esteem, happiness, relationships, work life, and academics. He has worked and trained in both Washington D.C. and Chicago. Dr. Hacker is an experienced therapist, group leader, clinical supervisor, and educator. He currently works in full time private practice; his previous professional affiliations and training positions include major university counseling centers (American University, DePaul, and Loyola University Chicago) as well as outpatient mental health clinics (Advocate Illinois Masonic, Bradley Counseling Center).
Dr. Hacker has held adjunct appointments to teach courses on human development, multiculturalism, and clinical practice at American University and Loyola University Chicago. He is active within local and national professional communicates and currently serves as the chair-elect for the Section on College and University Counseling Centers in the American Psychological Association. Dr. Hacker has previously volunteered with local non-profit programs for youth including Umoja Student Development.
Dr. Hacker received a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Hacker is trained in evidence based therapy, assessment, and consultation. As a counseling psychologist, Dr. Hacker provides clinical services that honor a client’s cultural and identity, considers their context (family, neighborhood, responsibilities, education, and work), and builds upon their unique strengths and values. Dr. Hacker helps his clients understand themselves, shift patterns in their relationships, access and express emotions, and improve decision making.
